Tigers can’t keep up with La Verne

Box Score Three games in three days proved to be too big of an obstacle for Colorado College on Saturday afternoon.

The University of La Verne used a pair of big scoring runs to post an 83-62 victory over the Tigers, who were playing for the third time in less than 45 hours.

The Leopards went on a 15-4 spurt midway through the first half to open a 19-point advantage, and after CC clawed its way back to within 10 with 12:11 remaining in the game, they outscored the Tigers 25-13 to build a 78-56 lead with 2:17 to play.

Korbyn Ukasick turned in another solid performance, leading Colorado College with 14 points and five rebounds. It marked the third time in the last four games that the freshman forward scored 12 or more points.

Sophomore guard Katie Waters recorded a season-high 11 points, while sophomore forward Danielle Davis finished with 10 points, her third consecutive outing in double figures.

Junior guard Courtney Tyus recorded nine points and dished out nine assists, which was only one off of her career high set on Feb. 10, 2012, at Southwestern University.

Emily Myers paced ULV with a game-high 20 points, while Megan Musashi added 14.

Colorado College (0-5) returns home next week for its annual Thanksgiving Classic. The Tigers play host to Carleton College on Friday at 3 p.m. MT, and Otterbein University on Saturday at 5 p.m.
