Box Score Despite a glittering performance by senior
Marissa Gradoz, Colorado College suffered an 86-57 defeat to Trinity University on Friday evening in San Antonio, Texas.
Gradoz sank seven of 16 attempts from the floor for a 43.8 field-goal percentage and three-for-four from the charity stripe to lead all players with 17 points.
The Tigers dropped their final game to Trinity, which leads the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference with a perfect 14-0 record in league play and 20-4 mark overall, while wrapping up their final weekend of regular season in conference play. Now 4-20 overall and 4-10 in SCAC play, they take on Southwestern University at noon Sunday in their 2012-13 finale in Georgetown, Texas.
Freshman
Danielle Davis scored the first points for CC on a pair of layups to give the Tigers a 4-2 edge 1:02 into Frinday's contest, but the lead didn't last long as Trinity's Murphy Burns swished a pair of free throws with 18:08 left on the clock to ignite a 20-4 run for the home team.
Trinity entered halftime with a 43-27 cushion and continued to build its lead during the final 20 minutes of the game.
Sophomore
Courtney Tyus added 14 points and a team-best five assists to aid Colorado College offensively. Tyus also picked up six rebounds and a career-high seven steals on defense. Senior
Kalli Kemling contributed with nine points and six rebounds for the Tigers.
Trinity spread its offense around with five players scoring in double figures. Lauren Splawn led the way with 13 points, Anecia Richardson added 12, Anne Waidelich had 11 and Libby Kruse and Hannah Coley each scored 10 to pace the balanced attack.
