Tigers sting Dallas in home finale

Box Score Colorado College needed less than two minutes on Saturday to take command in its 2013 home finale at Stewart FIeld.

The Tigers erupted for three goals in the opening 80 seconds en route to a 15-4 halftime lead, then coasted to a 19-4 victory over the University of Dallas.

CC, which concludes the season with an inter-divisional contest in Grand Junction against Colorado Mesa University on Tuesday night, snapped a two-game skid while improving to 6-10 for the campaign.

Dallas slipped to 1-11.

Senior attacker Ellie Cole, who would add five assists in the triumph, struck for her 23rd tally of the season just 42 seconds into match before setting up senior midfielder Anna Crosby's 11th with only 1:04 elapsed. Senior defender Nancy Makuch added her first 14 seconds later and the Tigers were off and running.

Mary Hilker got UD on the board at 4:42, but that's as close as the visiting Crusaders would get as Kate Krieger, Frances Staadt and Leigh Nichol responded in rapid succession to increase the margin to 6-1 for Colorado College before the match was nine minutes old.

Krieger, also a senior, finished with a team-high three goals while Crosby and sophomore Virginia Logue notched two apiece. Mikayla Tolley struck twice for Dallas.
