Balanced scoring lifts Schreiner past CC

Box Score Korbyn Ukasick and Courtney Tyus combined for 31 points, but Schreiner University countered Colorado College's dynamic duo with four players in double figures and posted a 75-63 victory on Friday night at Edington Gymnasium.

Kelsie Jackson and Lindsey Peterson scored 17 points apiece for Schreiner, which improved to 7-8 overall and 2-2 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Bailey Harris finished with 12 points, while Sabriyahh Fennell added 10.

The Tigers took a 19-16 lead after freshman forward Kali Place knocked down a short jumper with 5:21 remaining in the first half, but Schreiner used a 9-1 run to build a 26-20 lead at halftime.

CC pulled to within 47-41 on a three-point play by Ukasick with 11 minutes remaining in the contest. The Mountaineers, however, used a 13-4 run to open their largest lead at 61-45 with 7:06 to play.

Tyus also had eight rebounds and five assists.

Colorado College, 1-13 overall and 1-3 in the SCAC, returns to action on Saturday afternoon at Texas Lutheran University.
