Tigers fall to Bridgwater on the road

Box Score The Colorado College women's basketball team ended its road trip with a 72-60 loss to Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Mass., on Saturday evening.

Junior Danielle Davis scored a layup with 16:38 remaining in the first half to give the Tigers an 8-7 lead, but a layup by Jennie Lindland helped spark a 12-2 run to give the Bears the advantage they would not relinquish.

CC cut Bridgewater's lead to just 30-27 on a pair of made free throws from senior Courtney Tyus with 56 ticks left in the first half. A bucket by Christina Jaros would give the Bears a 32-27 edge at halftime.

Davis led the Tigers for the third time this season with 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Tyus added 14 points and a team-high six assists.

CC outrebounded Bridgewater, but too many turnovers proved too costly for the Tigers.

Sophomore Korbyn Ukasick picked up 11 points and eight rebounds, while junior Katie Wirth added another eight rebounds to aid the Tigers' defense.

Rachel Kusz led the Bears (3-1) with 19 points, Chanelle Melton and Lindland added 16 and 11 points, respectively.

Colorado College (0-4) returns home to host St. Olaf College on Nov. 26 at 6 p.m. in Reid Arena. The Tigers will also host their Thanksgiving Classic on Nov. 28-29.
