Crusaders edge CC in regular-season finale

Box Score Nate Wilson's layup with just over eight seconds remaining proved to be the difference as the University of Dallas upset Colorado College, 67-66, in the regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon at CC's Reid Gymnasium.

The Tigers overcame a five-point deficit during the final 1:30 to take a 66-65 lead on a three-pointer by senior guard Jake Tramutolo with 39 seconds left.

Colorado College had a chance to win the game on its final possession, but Ryan Milne's runner from the right side of the lane hit the front of the iron and the Crusaders escaped with the victory.

Chris Lesnansky led Colorado College with a game-high 22 points.

In his last home appearance, Milne scored 18 points and dished out five assists.

Tramutolo went 2-for-3 from long distance and finished the game with 500 career points.

Russell Clark came off the bench to add 10 points for the Tigers, who slipped to 16-7 overall and 9-5 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Wilson paced the Crusaders with 14 points, while Ross Davidson scored 12 and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds to help UD finish with a 37-25 edge on the glass.

Dallas, which connected on seven of 14 shots from behind the arc and 16 of 19 free throws, improved to 11-13 overall and 5-9 in league play.

The brackets for the 2014 SCAC Championship will be announced later Saturday after all of the day's games are completed.
