Playing the first of four home matches in a span of five days, Colorado College was not exactly in mid-season form.
Visiting Metropolitan State University of Denver dominated from start to finish on Wednesday, recording a 9-0 victory over the Tigers at the Burghart Courts.
"While I think Metro was a better team than us, I was a bit disappointed with our effort throughout the lineup," said CC coach
Anthony Weber. "We'll need to be much tougher in matches this coming weekend to compete with Colorado Mesa and Hastings. We're still trying to figure out our doubles teams and may need a few more matches to nail down what we need down the home stretch."
The Roadrunners, ranked No. 5 regionally in NCAA Division II, swept all six singles matches in straight sets and did not drop a game at No. 2 or 3 doubles. Colorado College's best performance of the day came at No. 1 doubles, where junior
Jack Burger and sophomore
Taylor Delehanty battled tough before falling by a 9-8(4) count.
The Tigers resume action with a 3:30 p.m. against Mesa on Friday before hosting Hastings College at 10 am. Saturday and Arizona Christian University at 9 a.m. Sunday.
