Katie Waters led the team with 26 points as the Tigers earned their second-consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory in a 73-65 win over Centenary College, Saturday afternoon in Reid Arena.

Waters drained 9-of-10 from the floor along with 7-of-9 from the free-throw line to lead the offense, which hit 27-of-54 from the floor for a 50.0 field-goal percentage.

With the victory, the Tigers are tied for first place in SCAC action.

Senior
Courtney Tyus led the team with eight rebounds and seven assists, while chipping in 17 points. Junior
Danielle Davis added 15 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Centenary's Rebecca Thompson hit a layup 6:02 into the first half to give the Ladies a 10-6 lead, but a three pointer by Tyus at 13:58 helped spark a 17-2 run to give the Tigers their largest lead of the game at 23-12 with 9:30 remaining in the half.

Thompson hit a jumper with 53 seconds left in the first half to pull Centenary within one point, but a jumper by Tyus and a pair of free throws by Waters gave CC a 39-34 edge at halftime.

The Ladies came back early in the second half when Briana Edwards hit a free throw to cut the score to 40-38 with 16:29 left to play.

CC answered when sophomore
Korbyn Ukasick ignited a 14-5 run with a layup. The run was capped with a steal by Tyus who dished a pass to Waters for a layup midway through the second half to give the Tigers another 11-point lead at 54-43.

Colorado College (2-11, 2-0 SCAC) held a 57-47 lead, but a layup by Thompson with 9:24 left to play began an 11-1 run to knot the game at 58-58 with 6:58 remaining on the clock.

Ukasick struck back with a layup to give the Tigers back the lead and pull away with the victory.

Centenary (0-12, 0-2 SCAC) was led by DeiAnna Hall with 19 points. Thompson added 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while Linda Gomez Gil sank 10 points.

Colorado College travels to Texas to take on Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University in SCAC play on Jan. 9-10. The Tigers play the Pirates at 6 p.m. CT on Friday.
