Box Score Colorado College made first-place Trinity University sweat for most of the first half, but the visitors from San Antonio heated up for the final 25 minutes and pulled away for a 60-35 victory on Saturday night at Reid Arena.

After junior forward Anecia Richardson made one of two free throws, Trinity took the lead on a layup by senior forward Taylor Hollins and went on to add nine more points while building a 27-17 advantage after 20 minutes.

Colorado College trailed by 15 points 3:38 into the second half, but fought back to within 10 on a free throw by sophomore forward
Kali Place with 14:45 to go. However, TU regained control with a 12-2 surge and the hosts were unable to get closer than 17 points the rest of the way.Â

Danielle Davis led Colorado College with a game-high 13 points. With seven rebounds the junior forward became the 25th Tiger to record 400 or more career rebounds.

Katie Wirth grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, marking the second time this season she finished in double figures.

Hollins came off the bench to lead Trinity with 12 points, while junior guard Elizabeth Balido registered a team-best 10 boards.

Sophomore guard Monica Holguin added 11 points and five rebounds for TU, which improved to 17-3 overall and 8-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

CC dropped to 2-19 overall and 2-9 in league play.

Colorado College plays its final road games of the season next week at Austin College and the University of Dallas on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
