Box ScoreAustin Farley scored twice and added an assist Friday to lead 17th-ranked Minnesota Duluth past Colorado College, 5-0, at The Broadmoor World Arena. Kasimir Kaskisuo made 19 saves for the Bulldogs, who won their first NCHC game of the season and improved to 4-5-3 overall and 1-3-1-1 in league play.
Â
Farley put UMD on the board just 1:12 into the contest with a wrister from the left circle that got past CC goalie
Tyler Marble. Marble held firm the rest of the period with 10 saves and kept the score 1-0 after 20 minutes.
Â
The Bulldogs blew the game open in the second period with three goals in a span of 4:14. Willie Raskob took a beautiful feed from the opposite corner by Farley and beat Marble for a 4x4 goal nine minutes into the frame, then Carson Soucy notched his first goal of the season just 2:22 later with a one-timer from the left circle. Charlie Sampair made it 4-0 with his first of the season just 1:52 after Soucy's goal with another wrister that eluded Marble.
Â
The Tigers (0-11-0, 0-5-0-0 NCHC) had trouble generating any offense the entire game, putting just 19 shots on Kaskisuo, who recorded his second shutout of the season. They were 0-for-2 on the power play and shutout for the fourth time this campaign.
Â
Farley closed out the scoring with a backhander on the power play that was originally waved off, but after the teams played on for a couple of minutes, a video review showed the puck went in the net. Tony Cameranesi (two assists) and Raskob assisted on the goal.
Â
Marble finished the game with 34 saves, while
Cody Bradley and
Ben Israel led the Tigers with three shots apiece.

The same two teams battle Saturday night at 7 p.m.
