Box Score Grinnell College used a 28-10 run midway through the second half to break open a tight game and pull away for a 105-90 victory over Colorado College on Sunday afternoon.

Justin Berardino scored 11 points and dished out a career-best seven assists to lead the Tiger offense, while senior forward
James Lonergan added 11 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.

Sophomore swingman
Ryan Young went 5-for-6 from the floor en route to a career-best 11 points.

Kyle Parker poured in a game-high 19 points to lead five Pioneers in double figures. Julian Marx added 16 points and Vinny Curta scored 14.

Colorado College led 56-54 after sophomore guard
Bobby Roth scored on a layup with 4:14 into the second half.

Unfortunately, CC scored only 10 points during the next seven minutes and Grinnell took command of the contest.Â

The Tigers pulled to within 11 points on several occasions during the final five minutes, but that proved to be as close as they would get.

A dunk by sophomore forward
John Hatch gave CC its largest lead at 31-26 lead with 7:51 to play in the first half. Colorado College held a 41-38 advantage with a little less than three minutes remaining before the break, but the Pioneers used a 7-3 spurt to go up 45-44 after 20 minutes.

Colorado College plays its home opener on Tuesday night against Division II Regis University at Reid Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. Â
