Box Score James Lonergan led Colorado College with a season-high 16 points, however that wasn't nearly enough to lead the Tigers to a victory over Whitworth University on Saturday afternoon.

The undefeated Pirates got 21 points and eight from Christian Jurlina and completed a sweep of the season series against CC with a 72-56 triumph at George Fox University.

Lonergan, a senior forward, connected on six of eight shots from the floor and grabbed a team-high five rebounds.

Sophomore guard Eric Houska added 10 points and dished out three assists.

The Tigers were within three points after sophomore forward Andrew Maddock sank a pair of free throws a little more than a nine minutes into the game, but Whitworth used an 18-3 run during the next five minutes to take control of the contest.

Whitworth led by 19 points when Drew Sears scored on a tip-in 1:47 into the second half and Colorado College never got closer than 14 points when Ryan Young completed a three-point play with 2:48 remaining in the game.

Sears finished with 16 points for the Pirates, while George Valle also reached double digits with 15.

CC will be back in action on Sunday when it plays weekend host George Fox at 1 p.m. PT.
