James Lonergan led the Colorado College men's basketball team in scoring for the second game in a row, but that wasn't enough as George Fox University defeated the Tigers, 63-49 on Sunday afternoon in Newburg, Ore.

Lonergan led the team with 15 points hitting 7-of-11 from the floor and added six rebounds. Sophomore
Andrew Maddock also scored in double figures with 12 points and led the team with eight rebounds.

Ryan Young hit a layup with 5:10 remaining in the first half to pull the Tigers within a point at 19-18, but the Bruins came back with a 9-7 run to close out the half with a 25-28 lead at halftime.

Lonergan tied the game at 39-39 when he drained a layup with 12:13 left in the game, but that was as close as CC would get as George Fox finished the game with a 24-10 run.

Eric Houska led the team with four assists as the Tigers dropped to 2-5 this season.

The Bruins (2-6) were led by Rico Thomas with 25 points. Mason Green-Richards and JJ Lacey also scored in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Ryan Thistlewood led on the boards with nine rebounds.

Colorado College will return to action on Dec. 28 as it hosts the Pikes Peak Holiday Classic Dec. 27-30. The Tigers will play Concordia University-Texas at 7 p.m. in Reid Arena.Â
