Box Score Sophomore midfielder Mary Taussig scored five goals to spark a furious Colorado College comeback, but Claremont-Mudd-Scripps struck twice during the final 1:22 to escape with a 14-13 victory on a rainy Sunday afternoon in Southern California.

The Tigers erased a 7-1 deficit to take a 10-9 lead when sophomore midfielder Sadie Cole converted on a free-position shot with 9:46 remaining in the second half. The Athenas fought back to grab a 12-11 lead on a goal by Joanna Heywood, only to watch CC counter with tallies by Cole and Taussig.

Ellen Berkley tied the game with 1:22 to play, and then notched the game winner with just 22 seconds remaining.

Colorado College won the final draw control, but with no clock visible from the offensive zone, time ran out before the Tigers were able to launch a final shot on goal.

Berkley's first marker gave CMS a 5-0 lead with 13:26 to play in the first half. The Tigers, who defeated Cabrini College 24 hours earlier in Santa Barbara, didn't get on the board until Taussig scored off a feed from senior attacker Virginia Logue a little more than four minutes later.

Goals by Lauren Clubb and Izzy Laterzo extended the Athenas' lead to 7-1, but CC finally found its legs and clawed its way back into the game.

Taussig struck twice during a span of 99 seconds to pull Colorado College to within four, then Logue scored with 12 ticks to go in the first half to make the score 7-4 after 30 minutes.
The Tigers carried the momentum into the second half and cut their deficit to one on goals by Logue and freshman attacker Steph Kelly.

Goals by Christina Coffin and Katie Hill extended Claremont's lead to 9-6, but CC countered with four in a row to takes its first lead on Cole's tally. 

Colorado College's junior goalkeeper Martha Smith was credited with seven saves.

The Tigers open a 10-game home stand on March 2 against Susquehanna University.
