Box Score Chris Lesnansky recorded game highs of 18 points and nine rebounds, but his efforts were not enough to get Colorado College a victory at the University of Dallas on Saturday night.
The Crusaders connected on eight of 14 three-point attempts and scored 22 points off turnovers to defeat CC, 65-59, at the Maher Athletic Center.
With the victory, Dallas pulled to within a half game of the Tigers in the battle for fourth place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings.
After Colorado College tied the game at 21-21 on a bucket by senior forward
Russell Clark with 8:30 to play in the first half, UD outscored the Tigers 15-5 to build a 10-point lead after 20 minutes.
CC opened the second half with a 13-5 run to cut its deficit to 41-39 with 15:37 to play, but the Crusaders answered with a 15-6 surge to extend their lead to 11 points with 5:49 to go.
Colorado College pulled to within 60-55 on a layup by Lesnansky with 1:22 remaining, but Dallas went 5-for-6 from the charity stripe during the final 46 seconds to seal the deal.
Junior guard
Justin Berardino recorded nine points, five rebounds, four steals and two assists for the Tigers, who slipped to 12-11 overall and 6-6 in the SCAC.
Michael Sarrat made three of five attempts from behind the arc and led UD with 13 points.
Blaine Blackburn and Aaron Wyatt finished with 11 points apiece, while Kym Malone scored eight points and was credited with seven assists. Â
The Crusaders improved to 14-7 overall and 5-6 in the conference.
CC closes out the 2014-15 regular season next weekend at home against Southwestern University and Texas Lutheran University on Friday and Sunday, respectively. Â
