Box Score Centenary College used an early run to defeat Colorado College, 76-56, in its second consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup on Sunday afternoon in Shreveport, La.

The Tigers held a 9-7 lead after freshman guard
Molly Gillis drained a jumper with 6:16 left to play in the first quarter, but Centenary's Briana Edwards hit a layup to help spark a 15-4 run to close out the quarter with a 24-13 advantage.

Senior forward
Danielle Davis led CC with 11 points and added five rebounds, while senior guard
Katie Waters added 10 points off the bench for the second game in a row.

Freshman guard
Casey Torbet added nine points and led the team with six rebounds and three assists.

Davis cut Centenary's lead to 13 points on a pair of free throws late in the second quarter, however, that was as close as the Tigers would get as the Ladies finished the half with a 10-2 run to take a 43-21 lead at halftime.

The Ladies held its largest lead of the game when Linda Gomez Gil made a pair of free throws with 6:41 left to play in the fourth quarter at 67-38, but the Tigers cut the lead when Waters scored the next six points to help ignite an 18-9 run to close out the game.

Centenary (6-6, 1-1 SCAC) was led by Samantha Lyons with a game-high 17 points, while Edwards picked up a double-double with a game-high 10 rebounds and 12 points. DeiAnna Hall and Gomez Gil also scored in double figures with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Colorado College (2-11, 1-1 SCAC) returns home for a pair of SCAC matchups against Trinity University on Friday at 8 p.m. and Schreiner University on Sunday at 4 p.m. in Reid Arena.
