Francesca Cendali made a pair of clutch free throws with 17 seconds left in the game to help lift Colorado College past Southwestern University, 68-65, on Sunday afternoon in Reid Arena.

Southwestern's senior guard Audrey Garcia sank a three pointer to tie the game at 65-65 with 29 seconds remaining, but Cendali made two free throws 12 seconds later to give the Tigers a 67-65 lead.

The Pirates had two chances to tie the game when freshman guard Kelsey Faykus went up for a layup but missed with six seconds remaining. Junior guard Olivia Podaras got the rebound and attempted a put back, but wasn't able to connect with senior forward
Korbyn Ukasick getting the rebound and was then fouled.

Ukasick made one-of-two free throws with .05 seconds left in the game to seal the victory.

CC held a 60-47 lead early in the fourth quarter, but freshman guard Tori Carraway hit a jumper to ignite a 15-2 run to tie the game at 62-62 when Garcia made both of her free throws with 2:09 remaining.

Cendali was sent to the free-throw line where she drained both of her shots with 1:09 left to go, and senior guard
Katie Wirth made one of her free throws with 42 ticks left on the clock to give the Tigers a 65-62 lead.

Colorado College was led offensively by senior forward
Danielle Davis with 17 points. Ukasick scored 11 points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double of her career.

The Tigers used a 14-2 run in the first quarter to jump out to a 16-4 lead when senior guard
Katie Waters drained a three pointer with 4:10 left in the quarter. CC ended the first 10 minutes on a layup by Ukasick with six ticks left to give her team a 20-9 lead.

Garcia hit a three pointer 1:13 into the second quarter to close the gap to 23-15, but the Tigers used a 17-7 run to build its largest lead of the half at 40-22 when Davis drained a shot from long range with 3:46 to go. CC maintained its cushion and went into halftime with a 46-29 advantage.

Southwestern used the third quarter to slowly chip away at CC's lead and was able to close to within 10 points on a layup by Carraway with 1:06 to go. Davis ended the quarter with a layup to give the Tigers a 58-46 edge after 30 minutes of action.

The Pirates, who dropped to 7-13 and 4-5 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, were led by Garcia with a game-high 21 points and added six rebounds and four assists. Madison Edwards also scored in double figures with 13 points.

Waters scored 13 points for CC and picked up five rebounds, while freshman guard
Molly Gillis dished out a career-high five assists.

The Tigers came out strong in the first half shooting a blistering 71.4 percent (20-28) from the floor and 66.7 percent (6-9) from long range. CC also finished the game hitting 12-of-14 from the charity stripe for an 85.7 free-throw percentage. Â

Colorado College (3-18, 2-8 SCAC) continues its homestand as it hosts the University of Dallas and Austin College on Friday and Sunday, respectively.
