Box Score No. 20 Trinity University proved too much as Colorado College was defeated, 91-49, in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Friday evening in Reid Arena.

Freshman guard
Casey Torbet led the Colorado Tigers with eight points and three steals, while grabbing five rebounds. Senior forward
Danielle Davis grabbed a team-best six rebounds and added four points.

Trinity built an early 12-2 lead when junior guard Monica Holguin hit a layup with 7:17 left in the opening quarter, but a layup from Davis helped ignite an 8-0 run to pull within a basket with 1:47 remaining.

The hosts were within three points with 8:58 remaining in the second quarter when sophomore guard
Francesca Cendali hit a jumper, however, that was as close as CC would get as Trinity went on a 24-13 run to go into halftime with a 41-27 lead.

The Trinity Tigers continued its run through the subsequent quarters when junior guard Allison Staley drained a 3-pointer 52 seconds into the third quarter. Â

Sophomore guard Rebecca Gordon led TU with a game-high 21 points, while Holguin added 15 points. Senior forward Anecia Richardson and Staley also scored in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Colorado College won the rebounding battle, outrebounding Trinity, 38-36. Davis' six rebounds gave the senior 498 career rebounds and needs only two more to reach the 500 mark.

Trinity, which shot 55.2 percent from the floor, improves to 10-2 on the season and 1-0 in the SCAC. Â Â
