Box Score John Hatch and Chris Martin combined for 35 points and 16 rebounds to power the Colorado College men's basketball team to a 74-55 victory over the University of Dallas on Friday night at Reid Arena.

Hatch led the Tigers with 19 points while Martin finished with 16. Both junior forwards grabbed eight rebounds, as did junior winger Ryan Young.

Freshman forward CooXooEii Black finished with 13 points and freshman guard Sean Stem added 12 more for CC, which improved to 2-6 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Colorado College matched its largest lead of the first 20 minutes when Martin hit a pair of free throws to give his team a 40-29 advantage a minute into the second half.

After the Crusaders trimmed their deficit to 56-48 midway through the second half, the Tigers went on a 14-2 run to stretch their lead to 20 points with 2:46 remaining.

CC got out of the gate quickly and led 9-2 after five minutes. Dallas pulled to within a point after junior guard Emanuel Calton scored on a layup midway through the first half, but Colorado College answered with a 12-3 spurt to open its first double-digit lead at 30-20.

CC shot just under 46 percent from the floor, compared to 40 percent for UD. The Tigers also built a 47-34 advantage on the glass.

Senior guard Victor Garate connected on three of four attempts from three-point range and had a team-high 14 points for the Crusaders, who slipped to 3-5 overall and 0-1 in the SCAC.

Sophomore guard Prince Giadolor added 12 points for Dallas, while sophomore guard Darrius Colvin grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.

Colorado College plays host to Nebraska Wesleyan University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
