Box Score Senior outside hitter
Abbe Holtze earned a pair of double-doubles to help lead No. 3 Colorado College to a pair of victories over Texas Lutheran University and Schreiner University on Sunday during Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play in Sherman, Texas.

Holtze led the team with 19 kills and 12 digs in a 3-1 victory over Texas Lutheran, and followed that performance with a team-best 12 kills, while adding 12 digs in a 3-0 sweep of Schreiner to finish the day with her sixth and seventh double-double of the season, respectively.

Texas Lutheran (7-7, 1-5 SCAC) took a 9-6 lead with a kill by Kristin Fording early in the first set, but a service error by the Bulldogs helped ignite a 19-6 run for the Tigers as they took the first set 25-15.

TLU took the second set with an identical 25-15 win and looked to take the third set when it tied the game at 22-22 with a kill by Makenzie Griffin. However, CC took a timeout and the offense struck back with a trio of kills by freshman middle hitter

Glenna Yancey led the team with six of her career-high 17 kills during the crucial third set. The middle hitter also added four blocks during the match.

The Tigers commanded the fourth set hitting a .324 attack percentage with 14 kills in 37 attempts with just two errors for a 25-15 win and the match.

Rebecca Watson each picked up a double-double against TLU. Counts led the team with a career-best 26 assists and added 17 digs for her eighth of the season, while Watson earned a season-high 21 assists and had 11 digs for her second of the season.

Colorado College dominated in its second match of the day beating Schreiner, 25-11, 25-19, 25-17. The Tigers held the Mountaineers (3-12, 0-6 SCAC) to a .042 attack percentage with 20 kills in 96 attempts with 16 errors.

Anna Gurolnick anchored the back row with a team-high 14 digs. Gurolnick also earned a career-high 27 digs earlier in the day to lead CC on defense in both matches.

Yancey and Spaethling supported the offense with seven kills apiece against Schreiner, while Watson and Counts added 19 and 17 assists, respectively.

Colorado College (13-2, 5-2 SCAC) will continue play on the road as it takes on Johnson & Wales University in Denver at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
