Box Score Ben Blacker made 25 saves and added an assist as Western Michigan defeated Colorado College, 3-0, Saturday night at Lawson Arena.
 
Sheldon Dries opened the scoring with a breakaway goal during the power-play at the 9:04 mark of the first period and the Broncos never looked back. Matheson Iacopelli took the puck off a save from Blacker and found Dries, who went in all alone against CC goalie Leclerc and slipped a backhander just under the crossbar for a 1-0 lead.  
 
Griffen Molino made it 2-0 with a 4-on-4 goal at the 14:28 mark of the opening frame after Corey Schueneman's shot from the point ricocheted off the back wall right to Molino, who scored from the left circle.
 
Western Michigan (13-6-3, 7-6-1-1 NCHC) scored the final goal of the game at the 11:49 mark of the second period as Aaron Hadley recorded the Broncos' first shorthanded goal of the season to make it 3-0.
 
The Tigers (6-16-2, 2-10-2 NCHC) struggled on the power play again Saturday, going 0-for-7, including a pair of two-man advantages. The Broncos were 1-for-6 on the power play.
 
Leclerc once again played solid in the net for the Tigers, making 28 saves. Junior defenseman Teemu Kivihalme led all players with five shots, followed by senior Luc Gerdes with four.
 
Colorado College returns home to face defending national champion North Dakota, Jan. 27-28, at The Broadmoor World Arena.
