Box Score Hot-shooting Trinity University defeated the Colorado College men's basketball team, 63-54, on Friday evening in San Antonio, Texas.

TU finished with a 54.3 field-goal percentage on 25-of-46 shooting, and opened the first-half hitting 15-of-26 from the floor for a 57.69 percent.

Eric Houska led CC with 13 points and five assists. The junior guard's five assists gave him 104 assists for the season, which made him the 10th player in program history to record 100 or more assists in a single season.

Sophomore guard
Jake Miller made his first appearance for Colorado College after he was injured against the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on Nov. 28. Miller scored three points and had two steals and an assist in 20 minutes after missing 12 games.

Houska drained a three-pointer with 8:11 left in the first half to cut Trinity's lead to 15-12, but Mays Brooks hit a jumper with 7:53 remaining to close out the half on an 18-2 run. TU went into intermission holding a 33-14 lead.

Danny Rivera gave Trinity a 58-44 lead on a made free throw with 3:18 left in the game, but sophomore forward
Chris Martin hit a layup to spark an 8-0 run to help CC pull to within 58-52 with 59 seconds remaining. Â

Trinity was led by Matt Jones with 15 points, while Rivera and Jayden Holden added 12 and 10 points, respectively. Rivera also led the defense with 10 rebounds.

CooXooEii Black scored 13 points. Junior forward
John Hatch added 10 points and four assists, while Martin contributed with nine points and a team-best seven rebounds.

Trinity improved to 8-10 on the season and 3-4 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Colorado College dropped to 7-12 on the season and 6-2 in the SCAC. CC is now a half game behind Schreiner University in the SCAC standings and is tied with Texas Lutheran University in second place.
