Box Score Colorado College did its best to hang with Texas Lutheran University on Friday night, but the veteran Bulldogs maintained their composure and pulled away for a 66-48 victory at Reid Arena.

After scoring on its first two possessions, the Tigers spent the rest of the game battling from behind and were unable to prevent TLU from pulling away during the final five minutes of the fourth quarter on the strength of an 18-9 run.

Texas Lutheran built a 16-point lead with 3:03 remaining in the third frame, however CC fought back and cut its deficit to single digits when senior guard Christina Bowman dialed long distance from the right corner to make the score 48-39 with 5:20 to play.

Bowman sank a pair of free throws to make the score 53-43 with 3:26 to go, but the Bulldogs countered with 10 consecutive points to put the contest out of reach.

Sophomore guard Casey Torbet led the Tigers with 16 points, connecting on six of 12 field-goal attempts and all three of her shots from behind the arc.

Bowman reached double digits with 10 points, while freshman guard Nia Duplain added five points and a team-high nine rebounds.

After missing the last 11 games with an injury, senior forward Korbyn Ukasick returned for Colorado College and finished with two points and three rebounds.

Cierra Jordan, one of Texas Lutheran's five senior starters, recorded a double-double with game highs of 21 points and 10 rebounds.

Senior forward Savannah Height scored 12 points and grabbed eight boards for the Bulldogs, while freshman forward Kasey Hairell scored 11 points.

TLU improved to 9-3 overall and 1-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Tigers slipped to 2-11 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Colorado College plays host to Southwestern University on Sunday at noon.
