McKenzee Gertz finished with 13 points and eight rebounds to help Colorado College defeat Johnson & Wales University, 57-49, on Wednesday night at Reid Arena.

Jade Odom scored on a layup with 7:08 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the Wildcats clawed their way back to within three points after freshman forward Brianna Aluya scored two of her team-high 15 points with 3:13 to go.
Just 10 seconds later, Torbet gave the Tigers a five-point lead and then Gertz provided some additional breathing room when she connected from behind the arc to extend the cushion to 54-46.

Evan Underbrink sank a pair of free throws midway through the third quarter, however the Wildcats pulled to within six points on a basket by Aluya with 2:19 remaining.
A jumper by Odom and two free throws by freshman guard
Abby Walz stopped the run and CC scored the final four points of the third quarter to take a 41-31 lead into the fourth quarter.
In addition to her eight points, Odom dished out five assists and had recorded three steals.
The Tigers scored 23 points off of 25 JWU turnovers and finished with a 17-9 advantage in points off the bench.
Aluya grabbed 12 rebounds to complete her double-double.
Senior guard Allison Butler added 12 points for the Wildcats, who dropped to 1-8.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 5, when they close out the home-and-home against Johnson & Wales in Denver.
