Treylan Matthews led all players with 19 points and four steals and teammate Jericho Gray added 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting to lead Centenary College to a 74-49 victory over Colorado College Friday night at Reid Arena.

The Gents (5-8, 3-2 SCAC) took control midway through the first half as five different players scored, including back-to-back three-pointers by Cedric Harris and Matthews, during a 13-0 run over a span of 5:03 to take a 25-12 lead.

JJ Woods hit a three-pointer for CC to cut the lead to 10, but Gray and Ty Prince each scored a couple of baskets and Centenary scored 10 unanswered points during the next 5:47 to push the lead to 20 at 35-15 with 1:42 remaining and held a 37-18 advantage at halftime.

The teams traded baskets early in the second half before Matthews hit a couple of long-range shots to put the Gents up 50-24 with 15:06 remaining. The Tigers cut the lead to 62-42 with a jumper from junior CooXooEli Black with 5:33 left in the game but could get no closer.

Freshman
Isaac Zachem led Colorado College (5-10, 1-5 SCAC) with 13 points, while Black chipped in with 11 and a game-high eight rebounds. Freshman
Devin Martinez pulled down seven rebounds for the Tigers.

Prince also scored in double figures for Centenary with 13 points and Ricky Ray dished out a game-high six assists and collected three steals.

The Gents outscored CC, 28-14, in the paint and forced the Tigers into 20 turnovers, while committing just seven.
