Calderon Competes at DIII National Meet

Senior Tony Calderon finished in 195th place Saturday at the NCAA Division III Men's Cross Country Championships at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky.

Calderon, the reigning SCAC Runner of the Year, completed the 8K course in 26 minutes, 4.1 seconds.

"Tony ran a gutsy race today," head coach Ted Castaneda said. "He achieved his goal of running at the national meet and capped his great career by running his heart out on a muddy field."

Calderon was the first CC male to run at the national meet since Peter Callan in 2016.

Pomona-Pitzer Colleges won the Division III team title while Patrick Watson of Stevenson University captured the individual title.
