Josh Fry led the Colorado College men's cross country team to a sixth-place finish Saturday at the NCAA Division III West Regional Championship and qualified for next week's NCAA Division III National Championship with an 11th-place individual result.

Fry, who won the SCAC Championship Meet two weeks ago, finished the 8K race with a time of 25:13.1 and posted CC's best result at the regional meet since Peter Callan finished 10
th in 2016.Â

Pomona-Pitzer took the team title with 35 points, followed by Claremont Mudd-Scripps with 64. Colorado College placed sixth with 205 points. The winning team automatically qualifies for the NCAA Division III National Championship, while the top seven individuals that are not on that team or other teams selected at-large also advance to the national meet.

The team and individual selections will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 14. The NCAA Division III Championship is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 20, in Louisville, Ky.
Sophomore
James Settles was CC's second-best runner Saturday, finishing 23
rd in a time of 25:36.1 and earning all-region honors. Senior
Sam Rodriguez finished in 38
th place at 26:18.8, while sophomore
Devlin Swanson and senior
Paul Olsen rounded out the scoring for the Tigers by placing 71
st and 74
th, respectively.

"We came into this race with some big goals," head coach
Alex Nichols said. "Even though this race didn't play out like we had hoped it was still an extremely successful season. We are all proud of the efforts this team put in each and every day."
