Playing for the second time in less than 20 hours against an opponent which was coming off of an 11-day break proved to be too big of a hurdle for the Colorado College men's basketball team to overcome.
Texas Lutheran scored the first 13 points and went on to record a 87-53 victory in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon at Memorial gym. Â
Freshman guard
Edgar Romero matched his season high of 14 points to lead the Tigers. It was his fourth game of the season with double-digit points.
Adrian Price connected on five of seven field-goal attempts and finished with 12 points. It marked the fourth time this season the first-year forward reached double figures.
Compounding the adversity was TLU's long-range shooting. The Bulldogs drained nine shots from behind the arc and outscored the CC, 27-9, from three-point land.
Isaac Orozco went 3-for-4 from long distance and led TLU with a game-high 15 points. He also produced four assists and three rebounds.
After falling behind 25-4 midway through the first half, the Tigers trimmed their deficit to 13 points when
Sam Kinney scored with 2:48 remaining before halftime. That, however, was as close as Colorado College would get.
The Tigers will play host to TLU on Sunday, Feb. 6, in the final home game of the season.
