Junior forward Rosie Braley posted her fourth career double-double with 14 points and a season-high 10 rebounds, but the Colorado College women's basketball team was unable to recover from a sluggish end to the first quarter and dropped a 80-63 result at UC Santa Cruz on Sunday afternoon.

After Anna Fanelli sank a free throw to pull the Tigers to within 11-8 with 4:43 remaining in the first quarter, UCSC went on a 15-2 tear to open a 16-point lead after 10 minutes.

CC cut its deficit to 45-31 when Healy Bledsoe scored on a layup less than two minutes into the second half, but the Banana Slugs answered with an 11-3 run to regain the momentum. After seeing the deficit swell to 22 points midway through the third quarter, the Tigers clawed their way back to within 14 during the final two minutes of the game.

Talia Cloud scored 12 points, blocked three shots and grabbed a pair of rebounds for the Colorado College.
