Sam Kinney and
Fisher Gates combined for 30 points, but their efforts weren't enough as a spirited comeback by the Colorado College men's basketball team came up short in an 87-78 setback against the University of Dallas on Friday night at Reid Arena.
Kinney, a junior forward, connected on five of eight field-goal attempts and went 8-for-10 at the free-throw line while posting a career-best 18 points.
Gates, a senior forward, made four of five shots from the floor and all three of his free throws to record a career-high 12 points.
Junior guard
Jack McRoskey finished with a game-high 20 points and dished out a four assists for the Tigers, who sliced a 15-point deficit to six with 1:25 remaining. However, the Crusaders went 9-for-12 from the charity stripe during the final minute to seal the victory.
Freshman forward
Trey Crawford matched his season high of 11 rebounds and added five points. Â
Michael Wambsganss, who hit five of eight shots from behind the arc, led UD with 17 points.Â

DeAnte' Dennis scored eight points.
Will Nisbet scored four points and grabbed three rebounds.

Letrell Toussaint pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
Dustin Mathis scored 15 points and dished out six assists.
