Colorado College struck for eight goals during the first nine minutes and never looked back as the Tigers rolled to an 18-2 victory at the University of Dallas on Sunday.
Hayley Heinecken scored 16 seconds into the game off of a feed from
Annie Tucker, who set up three of CC's first four goals.
Bella Scola produced two of her career-high four goals during the opening 3:03, including what proved to be the game winner off a pass from
Courtney Zell.
Zell, who factored in four consecutive goals to give the Tigers a 6-0 lead, set career highs with three goals, three assists and six points.
Olivia Dossett scored three goals for the second time this week, while defender Zoe Voettiner set career highs with two goals, an assist and three points.
Colorado College led 10-0 midway through the first and 15-0 after 30 minutes.
Emily Pauletti put the Crusaders on the board almost six minutes into the second half with the first of her back-to-back goals.
Tucker led the CC defensive effort with a career-high four caused turnovers and grabbed a pair of ground balls, while
Natalie Schluter finished with four ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
A day after matching the school record for goals in a single game,
Bella Beattie produced four ground balls and three caused turnovers. She also scored once.
Scola led the Tigers with four draw controls, while Dossett picked up three.
Colorado College finished the game with a 42-8 advantage in total shots and a 31-22 edge in ground balls. The Tigers also won 15 of 21 draw controls.
Goaltender
Natalie Slade did not face a shot on goal during the first half.
"We moved the ball well today as a team," head coach
Susan Stuart said. "Our players were very good at supporting each other all over the field. I am happy with the continual growth of this young team. They are learning to play together, support each other in the field and push each other to step out of their comfort zones with confidence. It is really fun to watch."
