The Colorado College men's track and field team captured two of the three track titles Saturday on the first day of the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships in Seguin, Texas.

Freshman
James Settles opened the day by winning the 10K race with a time of 34:00.33, more than four seconds faster than second-place Keaton Holt of Trinity University (34:04.81). Junior
Ben Gellman just missed all-conference honors by placing fourth in 35:08.45.

In the next race, Tiger sophomore
Max Saliman dominated the 3,000-meter steeplechase race from start to finish. He beat the runner-up, Trinity's Chad Conway, by more than nine seconds with a winning time of 10:01.15.

Logan Henning and senior
Michael Gorman earned all-conference honors on Saturday. Henning finished scond in the pole vault, recoring a height of 13'11", while Gorman finished third in the 200-meter dash, completing the race in 22.22 seconds, the second-fastest time in program history and just four-one hundredths of a second shy of the school record.

Leighton Graham (seventh in the shot put) and freshman
Luke Bleckman (eighth in the triple jump).

"Our athletes set a great standard for the rest of team," interim head coach
Alex Nichols said. "It was so exciting to see both James and Max win individual championships, plus the amount of all-conference performances and personal bests was fantastic. We are already looking forward to tomorrow."
