CC Improves to 10-0 with Victories over Randolph-Macon, Ithaca

The No. 4 Colorado College volleyball team improved to 10-0 with a pair of victories in the Johns Hopkins University tournament on Friday afternoon.
 
It marked the fifth time in the last six years the Tigers began a season with at least 10 consecutive victories.
 
The Tigers defeated Randolph-Macon College 25-20, 33-31, 23-25, 25-17 in the first match of the day.
 
Sophomore outside hitter Isabella Lipacis led the Tigers with season highs of 17 kills and 17 digs. The double-double is his third of the season and the fifth of her career.
 
Sophomore setter Jenny Jenks dished out 40 assists and produced a match-high 18 digs.
 
Senior middle hitter Georgia Mullins recorded nine kills and a hand in six total blocks, one solo and five assists.
 
CC scored five consecutive points to snap an 18-18 tie in the first set, and then fought off three set points in the second set to take control of the match.
 
Randolph-Macon led throughout the third set, but the Tigers jumped out to an early 14-5 lead in the fourth set and closed out the match.
 
In the nightcap, Colorado College swept Ithaca College 25-20, 25-20, 25-11.
 
Senior outside hitter Isabella Vasquez and Lipacis recorded 10 kills apiece to lead the Tigers.
 
Jenks led CC with 11 digs, while Mullins had five total blocks.
 
The Bombers held small leads early in the first two sets before Colorado College pulled away.
 
The Tigers scored the first seven points in the third set were never threatened.
 
Colorado College faces No. 1 Johns Hopkins University on Saturday at 11 a.m. MT.
