Georgia Mullins Powers Tigers to Four-set Victory over St. Catherine

Senior middle hitter Georgia Mullins pounded down a career-high 23 kills to power the No. 2-ranked Colorado College volleyball team to a 25-9, 25-22, 20-25, 25-21 victory over St. Catherine University on Friday night in the 2021 CC Classic at Reid Arena.

Mullins, who hit .677 with only two errors on 31 swings, also had five total blocks.

In the fourth set alone, Mullins put down nine kills on an error-free 14 attacks.

With the Wildcats leading 14-9 and threatening to level the match at two sets apiece, Mullins fueled Colorado College's comeback with five kills and a pair of blocked shots during an 11-2 surge that gave the Tigers a 20-6 lead.

Senior outside hitter Isabella Vasquez recorded three of her 11 kills to help CC close out the victory.

Sophomore outside hitter Isabella Lipacis produced a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs.

Jenny Jenks dished out 52 assists while helping the Tigers finish with a .289 team hitting percentage. The sophomore setter also had a match-high 15 digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Maggie Rosen led the Wildcats with 10 kills, while junior setter Marissa Gilbertson had a team-high 13 digs.

The teams will meet again on Saturday at noon.

Colorado College closes out the tournament against Linfield College at 2 p.m.
