Singer Smashes 5K School Record at UCCS Indoor Meet

Freshman Elliot Singer smashed the women's indoor school record in the 5,000-meter run Friday as the Colorado College women's track and field team opened its 2022 campaign at the UCCS Mountain Lion Open.

Singer, who earned All-America honors in cross country last fall, finished eighth in Friday's race with a time of 19:18.07, surpassing the previous record of 21:07.41, set by Sarah Pokelwaldt in 2020.

Junior Dafna Williams finished 10th in the race with a time of 19:44.28.

Freshman Maya Mossanen and sophomore April Kwan finished third and fifth, repectively, in the high jump, while sophomore Emma Fowkes placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Tigers continue the meet on Saturday, Jan. 29, beginning at 11 a.m.
