McRoskey Nets 19, but CC Falls to Centenary In Overtime

Jack McRoskey scored a game-high 19 points, but Centenary College erased a four-point deficit during the final 47 seconds of regulation and then scored the first seven points of overtime to escape with a 73-63 victory on Friday at the Gold Dome.

Scott Cunningham scored seven of his eight points in the second half, but his three-pointer from the right wing wouldn't drop as time expired and the Gents took advantage of their new life.

AJ Hall, who led Centenary with 17 points, hit a triple 1:15 into the extra session to ignite the game-winning surge and the Tigers were never able to pull even. The Gents, who were just 10-for-20 from the charity stripe during the first 40 minutes, hit six consecutive free throws during the final 2:07 of overtime to ice the game.

CC took its largest lead of the game at 45-37 on a put-back by Adrian Price with 12:07 to play, however Centenary responded with a 10-2 run to knot the score on layup by Hall.

Cunningham hit a three-pointer and a short jumper to give the Tigers a five-pint lead with 2:18 remaining, but a McRoskey free throw was the only point Colorado College could muster during the remainder of regulation time.

Price produced 14 points for his 10th game this season double figures.

Charlie Rounaghi grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds and added six assists.

CC finished the game with a 48-26 advantage on the glass, but the Gents scored 24 points off of 25 Tiger turnovers.

The overtime game was the first of the season for the Tigers and their first since dropping an 83-75 result at Centenary on Dec. 29, 2019.
