Scott Cunningham poured in a career-high 35 points as Colorado College kept its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament hopes alive with a 72-59 victory at Austin College on Sunday afternoon.

Cunningham connected on 12 of 21 field-goal attempts and went 11-for-12 at the free throw line. He also dished out three assists and grabbed a pair of rebounds.

The senior guard scored 25 points during the second half, including 16 inside the final 10 minutes when CC snapped a 44-44 tie with a 28-15 barrage.

Cunningham's point total was the most for Colorado College this season and surpassed
Edgar Romero's 31-point effort against Schreiner University on Jan. 2.

Jack McRoskey produced 16 points, three rebounds and three assists. He buried a jumper with 9:57 to play to put the Tigers ahead to stay.

Jason Jones sank a pair of free throws with 3:54 remaining in the first half to give the 'Roos a 23-22 lead, but back-to-back buckets from Cunningham and a
Leo Magnus layup gave Colorado College a 28-23 lead after 20 minutes.

Austin College took its final lead at 43-42 on two free throws by Jaylin Cleamons with 11:28 to go, however Cunningham scored 21 seconds later.

CC recorded 13 steals and scored 23 points off of 23 turnovers by the 'Roos.
