Braley’s Double-Double Powers Tigers Past Austin College

       
Rosie Braley posted her fifth double-double of the season with 11 points and 14 rebounds to power Colorado College to a 60-40 victory at Austin College on Sunday afternoon.
 
Tedy Reed led the Tigers with 16 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Talia Cloud produced 13 points and eight rebounds.
 
Anna Fanelli dished out 11 rebounds to reach double digits for the tenth time this season and the seventh time in the last 11 games.
 
CC, which extended its winning streak to a season-best six games, broke the game open with a dominant third quarter. Cloud, Healy Bledsoe and Reed combined for 21 points as the Tigers outscored Austin, 23-10.
 
Natalie McCoy scored six of her 12 points in the fourth quarter when the 'Roos trimmed their 21-point deficit to 49-36, but Colorado College answered with an 11-2 surge to push its cushion back to 22 points. 
 
Austin took a 6-3 lead early in the first quarter on  jumper by Sarah Gwin, but the Tigers scored the next nine points and never trailed again.
 
After CC built a 19-10 cushion on a Braley triple 1:07 into the second quarter, the 'Roos scored six in a row to cut their deficit to three points with 5:47 to play in the first half. That proved to be as close as they would get.  
 
Reed score the final five points of the half to give the Tigers a 24-16 lead after 20 minutes, then Colorado College took commend with 13 surge during the first five minutes of the third quarter.   
       
   
Colorado College Standouts
Laura Strenk come within a point of posting a double-double with nine points and 11 rebounds.
Healy Bledsoe scored seven points and grabbed four rebounds.
 
Austin College Standouts
Sarah Gwin led the 'Roos with 16 points.
Natalie McCoy added 12 points, two rebounds and a pair of assists.
 
Notes
Colorado College improved to 13-11 overall and 10-5 in the SCAC.
Austin College slipped to 8-14 overall and 7-7 the conference play.
CC swept the season series against the 'Roos.

Next for the Tigers
Colorado College finishes the regular-season next Saturday at the University of St. Thomas.
