Talia Cloud matched her season high of 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds to help the Colorado College women's basketball team post a commanding 71-58 victory over Southwestern University on Saturday afternoon at Reid Arena.
With their third consecutive victory, the Tigers climbed into four place in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference standings with a 7-5 record.
Cloud went 3-for-4 from behind the arc and scored 11 points during the first half to help CC build a 39-23 lead after 20 minutes.
The Tigers extended their cushion to 22 points when
Rosie Braley scored four minutes into the second half, and didn't allow the Pirates to get any closer than 13 points the rest of the game.
Audrey Bayston added 12 points and grabbed six rebounds for Colorado College. She hit a three-pointer 28 seconds into the game and scored seven points during the opening 4:53 to help the Tigers race to a 17-4 lead.
Anna Fanelli dished out 14 assists in just 31 minutes, reaching double-digits for the sixth time this season.
Healy Bledsoe and
Laura Strenk combined to hold Southwestern's Lauren Fulenwider to just four points. Fulenwider came into the game averaging 14.5 points per contest, which ranked fifth in the SCAC.
Colorado College finished with a 51-43 advantage in rebounds and scored 20 points off 13 Pirate turnovers.
Princess Roberts led Southwestern with 15 points and eight rebounds.
