Emma Fowkes and April Kwan each posted a first-place result Saturday as the Colorado College women's outdoor track and field team opened its 2022 season at the Ed Boitano Invitational in Tacoma, Wash.

Fowkes won the 400-meter intermediate hurdles race with a time of 1:08.18, and finished third in the 100-meter high hurdles in 16.31 seconds.

Meanwhile, Kwan tied for first in the high jump with a leap of 4'11" and placed seventh in the high hurdles with a time of 19.72.

Shekinah Oloyede continued her momentum from a spectacular indoor season with three top-5 finishes on Saturday. Oloyede, who set a school record a couple of times in the 60-meter dash earlier this spring, placed second in the 100-meter dash (12.81 seconds), third in the 200 (26.70) and fourth in the long jump (15'7").

Other top-5 results for the Tigers include Bea Pierrepont, who finished second in the 400 (1:01.21), Clare Quinn (third in the 1,500; 4:56.61), and Kate Odom and Tori Matson, who placed fifth in the 200 and 800, respectively.

The Tigers return to action at the Oxy Distance Carnival and Spring Break Classic on Saturday, March 12, in Los Angeles, Calif.
