The Colorado College women's tennis team opened its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference slate on Sunday with a 9-0 loss to Trinity University at the Garden of the Gods Club in Colorado Springs.

Trinity took an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches, including an 8-3 victory by Cate Cushing and Megan Flores over
Gigi Jensen and
Maddy Meister at the No. 1 position.

Ruth Hill captured the No. 1 singles match with a 6-2, 6-1 triumph over
Christina Heffron, while CC's
Elizabeth Girian nearly won the first set at the No. 2 spot before falling to Olivia Kim, 7-5, 6-2.

With Trinity having clinched the team match, the No. 6 singles contest between Trinity Hatchett of TU and Jensen was an 8-game pro set, with Hatchett claiming an 8-7 victory, winning the tiebreak, 10-3.

The Tigers return to action on Sunday, March 13 against Western New Mexico. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs.
