Courtney Zell tied her career high of six points to lead Colorado College to a 18-13 victory over the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in the second of back-to-back games on Saturday afternoon.
Zell scored three goals and dished out three assists to lead the Tigers, while
Tobin Lonergan finished with three goals and two assists.
Maggie O'Donnell scored once and dished out three assists for CC.
The Tigers built a 14-8 lead after
Bella Beattie struck for a pair of goals in a span of 19 seconds late in the third quarter, but had to ward off a short-lived comeback that saw the Falcons cut their deficit in half with 8:42 to play.
Olivia Dossett scored off of a feed from
Healy Bledsoe to give Colorado College a 15-11 lead with 5:47 to go and
Caroline Shay struck 33 seconds later to put the Tigers back in control. Goals by Lonergan and
Devon Ortman just 27 seconds apart gave CC an 18-11 cushion and sealed the victory.
After a sluggish start that saw River Falls take a 4-2 lead on Emma Kohlbeck's goal 38 seconds into the second quarter, Lonergan answered 13 seconds later to spark a 4-0 run that gave Colorado College a 6-4 lead.
A goal by Holly Eckers shrunk the Tigers' lead to one, however Zell struck for a pair of goals during a three-goal outburst to give CC a 9-5 lead.

Kohlbeck and Eckers scored less than a minute apart to pull the hosts to within 9-7 a little less than four minutes before halftime, but the Tigers began the second half with a 5-1 surge to build a six-goal lead. Â
With three goals and two assists, Lonergan continued her climb on the program's single-season list and finished the game tied for 24th place with 56.
Colorado College won 22 of 35 draw controls and finished with a 22-17 advantage in ground balls.
CC launched 57 shots, compared to 31 for the Falcons.
Natalie Slade made nine saves while going the distance for the Tigers.
Ashley Olson kept UWRF in the game by making 27 saves.
Kohlbeck led River Falls with five goals.
