The Colorado College women's track and field team opened its 2023 indoor season on Saturday at the Colorado Running Company UCCS Mountain Lion Open in Colorado Springs.

Freshman
Clara Lippert posted the Tigers' best individual finish with a third-place result in the 200-meter dash with a time of 8.19 seconds. Fellow freshman
Emma Jones placed eighth in 27.4 seconds. Lippert also posted an eighth-place finish in the 60-meter dash in 8.19 seconds.

Junior
Emma Fowkes placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles race with a time of 9.96 seconds, while seniors
Tori Matson and
Naomi Bram placed sixth and seventh, respectively, in the 400 meters.

CC's 4x400 relay team, consisting of Fowkes, Jones, freshman
Asha Soni and Lippert, placed second with a time of 4:24.35.

In the field events, Jones was seventh in the long jump, followed by junior
April Kwan. Both cleared a height of 4'11.5", but Jones had one less attempt at a lower height. Kwan also finished 11
th in the long jump.

"We had a strong start to this season," head coach
Katie Bretscher said. "Overall, I'm happy with where the team is at and we look to build upon today's performances."
In men's action, freshman Josh Williams, running as an unattached athlete, set a school record int he 60 meters (6.9 seconds) and the 200 (22.47 seconds), finishing third and second, respectively.

The Tigers return to action at the Invitational at the Peak, held at the Air Force Academy on Friday, Feb. 3.
