Dinari Boykin and
Trey Crawford each posted a double-double on Sunday and the Colorado College men's basketball team hung on for an 82-81 victory over Rhodes College at Reid Arena.
Â
The Tigers held a 73-47 lead with 9:13 remaining in the second half following a 3-point play by

Rhodes chipped away at the lead from then on, starting with an 11-0 run that cut the lead to 75-63 with 5:46 left in the game. CC's
Russell MacFarlane stopped the streak with a layup, but the Lynx hit the next five points on a three-pointer by Phil Dotson (game-high 32 points) and tip-in from Trevor Lombard.
Â
Asher Nofziger's layup with 4:11 left made it 79-68, but Rhodes came back again with six straight points, culminating with a Mike Wagner layup, to cut the deficit to 79-75, then Wagner missed two free throws with 52 seconds left. Boykin made 1-of-2 from the line with 29 seconds left, then Dotson hit a jumper and Jack Dempsey stole the inbounds pass as was fouled with five seconds remaining.
Â
Dempsey missed the first free throw but made the second to make it 80-78 and the Lynx fouled Nofziger before the ball was put in play. Nofziger calmly made both free throws to put the Tigers up by two possessions and Dotson hit a three-pointer at the buzzer for the final margin.
Â

Â
Scott Ruegg added 13 points for CC, while MacFarlane and Nofziger each recorded a career-high 11 points.
Â
The Tigers held a dominating advantage on the boards, outrebounding Rhodes 62-38, and ended up 26-of-34 from the line.

"I was really proud of our team tonight," head coach
Jeff Conarroe said. "We did an awesome job on the glass and we are starting to understand the intensity we need to play. We played hard in stretches tonight. I told them we will figure out how to close games better as we go, but let's just enjoy the win and go back to work in our process on Tuesday."
Â
The Tigers return to action on Friday, Nov. 17, against George Fox University in Forest Grove, Ore. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. (PT).
