Colorado College Fights, Falls to No. 12 St. Thomas

Colorado College fell to the University of St. Thomas Celts, 67-56, at home on Friday night.

Dinari Boykin and Adrian Price led the Tigers with 20 and 10 points respectively. Scott Ruegg also grabbed eight points and two rebounds on Friday night.

The Tigers went on an 11 point run with seven minutes remaining in the first half and went into the locker room with a 30-29 lead. After leading at the half, the Tigers and the Celts battled back and forth to start the second but two costly turnovers and three-point shots by St. Thomas made the difference.

"I thought that we turned the ball over a little too much and struggled at times offensively," coach Jeff Conarroe said. "I'm proud of [the team]'s fight and thought that they stayed in the game, really rebounded the ball pretty well tonight and fought hard on defense."

The Tigers held to Celts to 38.8% from the field, well below their 45.6% season average and shot for 41.2% from the floor. The Celts were also held below their 73 points per game average while at Reid Arena. CC earned 12 points off of turnovers and 24 points off of battles in the paint.

The Celts were led by Nick Anderson who put up 27 points and grabbed five rebounds.

Colorado College closes out their regular season on Sunday against Centenary at home in Reid Arena.
