Colorado College defeated the Centenary Gents, 66-55, on Senior day in Reid Arena. With the win, the Tigers finished the regular season with their best record since the 2017-2018 season, when they finished 12-13 in regular season play.
The Tigers were appropriately led by
DeAnte' Dennis. The senior finished with 15 points, the most in a single game since his freshman year.
"We couldn't have scripted a more fitting result on this special weekend celebrating our senior class," coach
Jeff Conarroe said. "We couldn't be more proud of Deante who stepped up and made big plays as a senior should do, he was spectacular."
Three Tigers put up double-digit scoring in the victory,
Adrian Price,
Dinari Boykin, and
Edgar Romero.
"It was a great team win with four guys in double figures and others with big impacts on the defensive end of the floor and on the glass," Conarroe said. "The zone defense in the second half slowed them down and allowed us to find our footing offensively. We also shared the ball in the second half as well as we have all year."
CC shot 37.3% from the field and 38.1% from behind the arc. The Tigers held the Gents to just 34.5% from the field, far below their 40% shooting average. The home team also held Centenary below their season averages in points, rebounds and assists.
"We are proud of our guys. It was a great regular season and even better to have momentum heading into post season," Conarroe said.
The Tigers are set to take on Schreiner University on Friday at 4p.m. MT in the quarter final round of the SCAC Championship tournament.
