Colorado College defeated Schreiner University, 70-49, at Reid Arena on Friday night. The Tigers extended their win streak to seven games with the victory.
"Schreiner's full court defensive pressure and offensive firepower in the half court are both significant," coach
Katherine Menendez said. "We did exactly what we needed to do to counteract both of those strengths."
Three Tigers scored in the double digits on Friday,
Zoe Tomlinson,
Andie Will and
Audrey Bayston. Tomlinson nabbed 17 rebounds to earn her tenth double-double of the season. In addition to her 16 points, Will put up 9 steals, the second-most ever by a Tiger in a single game.Â
"Andie had a phenomenal game and her steals created great offensive opportunities," Menendez. "Zoe worked hard for every one of her rebounds and withstood a lot of physicality in the post. Tedy [Reed] provided a steadying offensive presence as did Anna with her game-high assists as well as crucial 3pt makes. Our players adjusted on the fly to do what we needed to do to find success and it was a great team win."
Colorado College scored 25 points off of turnovers and 18 second-chance points.Â
CC held the Mountaineers to just two second-chance points and eight points off of turnovers. Schreiner was led by Elisa Peralta who scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds.Â
The Tigers shot 36.2% from the field and 34.4% from behind the arc.
