Colorado College Falls in Back and Forth Battle to St. John Fisher

Box Score Colorado College gave up four straight goals in the fourth quarter to fall to the St. John Fisher Cardinals, 11-9, on Friday afternoon at Washburn Field. 

After Courtney Zell and Tobin Lonergan gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead to start the second quarter, the Cardinals scored three straight to start a back and forth battle that ended in the St. John Fisher victory. 

The teams traded goals and a goal by Kendall Havill and a pair by Lonergan gave Colorado College a 6-5 victory at the half. 

The Tigers struggled to score after the break and the Cardinals seized the momentum, outscoring CC 6-3 in the second half of the game. The Cardinals scored four times in the final 15 minutes to seize the victory. 

The Cardinals out shot the Tigers 38-18, 22 on target. 

Colorado College finished with the 26-21 advantage in ground balls while the Cardinals had the 16-7 edge in draw controls. 

Lonergan led the Tigers with four goals and Havill and Peyton Murphy each had a pair. Natalie Slade made 11 saves. 

St. John Fisher's Lilly Goodsell made seven saves. 

Next for the Tigers
Colorado College will take on No. 14 SUNY Cortland on Monday at Washburn Field.
