Box Score Colorado College gave up four straight goals in the fourth quarter to fall to the St. John Fisher Cardinals, 11-9, on Friday afternoon at Washburn Field.
After
Courtney Zell and
Tobin Lonergan gave the Tigers a 2-0 lead to start the second quarter, the Cardinals scored three straight to start a back and forth battle that ended in the St. John Fisher victory.
The teams traded goals and a goal by
Kendall Havill and a pair by Lonergan gave Colorado College a 6-5 victory at the half.
The Tigers struggled to score after the break and the Cardinals seized the momentum, outscoring CC 6-3 in the second half of the game. The Cardinals scored four times in the final 15 minutes to seize the victory.
The Cardinals out shot the Tigers 38-18, 22 on target.
Colorado College finished with the 26-21 advantage in ground balls while the Cardinals had the 16-7 edge in draw controls.
Lonergan led the Tigers with four goals and Havill and
Peyton Murphy each had a pair.
Natalie Slade made 11 saves.
St. John Fisher's Lilly Goodsell made seven saves.
