The Colorado College women's tennis team posted the second shutout of its 2023 spring break, defeating Willamette University 9-0 Monday in Salem, Ore.

The Tigers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the three doubles matches, including an 8-3 victory by
Maddy Meister and
Magdalene Gonzales over Anika Groener and Richelle Suzuki at the No. 1 spot. Â

Christina Heffron and
Gigi Jensen downed Alexa De Crinis and Ruby Thompson, 8-4, at the No. 2 spot, while
Malia Rivera and
Elizabeth Girian blanked McKenna Turner and Paisley Lieske, 8-0.           Â

The domination continued in singles play as CC won all six matches in straight sets. Five of the six matches included at least one 6-0 result. Rivera and Meister won, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 5 and 6, respectively, while Jensen defeated Ruby Blake, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 4.

Heffron,
Lindsay Popeo and Girian won at the top three spots, with Heffron improving to 3-0 at the No. 1 position during the road trip.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, March 28, against Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., beginning at 12 pm (MT).
