After a four goal first quarter, Colorado College lost to the No. 13 Messiah University Falcons on Monday night at Washburn Field.
The Tigers got off to a hot start with four goals in the first 14 minutes, but were unable to continue the momentum through the rest of the game.
Kendall Havill struck for two goals in the first period, alongside
Tobin Lonergan and Devin Ortman.
Messiah struck back with six straight goals in the second period to take a 4-7 lead at the half.
Lonergan scored her second goal of the night to start the third quarter, but it was not enough to build offensive momentum for the Tigers. CC and Messiah traded goals in the first five minutes of the second half before the Falcons scored three-straight to extend the lead to 11-6.
The Falcons struck with six unanswered goals in the final three and a half minutes of play to secure the 9-18 victory over Colorado College.
Messiah finished with the 29-25 edge in ground balls and out shot the Tigers 33-31.
